The short version

THRØ keeps the name you type, how you sign in, and the darts you throw. It has no email address and no phone number for you. It has no analytics, no advertising and no trackers of any kind — there is not a single third-party measurement tool in the app. Where you are never leaves your phone. You can delete the lot from inside the app.

What THRØ keeps

If you never sign in

Nothing about you reaches us. Matches you score stay on the phone, in the app's own storage, and are not sent anywhere. You can use THRØ this way forever.

When the app opens, it asks THRØ's website whether there is a notice about people's information — the way we would tell you if something ever went wrong with it, since we hold no email address or phone number to write to. The question carries nothing about you: no name, no account, no number for your phone. Like any web page, the website's host sees the internet address the question came from.

If you sign in

• A name — the one you type. Not one taken from Apple or Google.
• How you sign in — for Apple or Google, the identifier they give us for you, which is specific to THRØ and is not your email; for a passkey, a public key. We ask Apple and Google for nothing else: not your email, not your name, not your profile.
• Whether you are 18 or over, and how that was established. Not your date of birth.
• Your matches — every dart, if you upload one. This is the point of the app.
• Who you play with — friends you have added, and the teams and leagues you are in.
• A label for each device you have signed in on, so you can sign the others out.
• A picture, if you choose to add one.

What THRØ does not keep

• No email address and no phone number. There is nowhere in THRØ to put one. This means: if you lose every way of signing in, we cannot get you back into the account, and we cannot email you. That is the trade.
• No location. If you let the app use your location, it works out which leagues are near you on the phone and sends nothing. The server publishes where venues are; it never learns where you are.
• No date of birth. Only whether you are over 18.
• No advertising identifier, no analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking — and nothing is shared with anyone for advertising, ever.

Why we are allowed to keep it

Under UK GDPR: a contract with you, for the account itself and the matches you upload — you asked us to keep your darts, and that is the service. A legitimate interest in keeping THRØ safe and honest, for the records behind moderation and for the audit log. Your consent, for anything you choose to add on top, such as a picture — withdrawn by removing it.

Who else sees it

Three kinds of people and companies, and no others.

• Other players, where you have made it so: a league table names the teams in it, a match names both players, a friend sees your figures. A player under 18 is never listed publicly.
• The companies that run the machines. Neon holds the database, in London. Render runs the server, in Frankfurt. They process on our instructions and for nobody else.
• Apple and Google, if you use their sign-in. They tell us you are you; we tell them nothing about what you do in THRØ.

We do not sell anything about you, and there is nobody else on this list.

How long

Your account and your matches stay until you delete them. Sessions expire on their own. The audit log behind moderation and safety is kept separately and for longer, because a record of who decided what has to outlive the decision.

Getting rid of it

You → your profile → Delete my account, in the app. What is destroyed and what survives is set out on the deletion page — in short, everything that identifies you is destroyed, and matches stay because a leg is the other player's record too, carrying nothing that points back to you.

You can also ask us for a copy of what we hold, to correct it, to restrict what we do with it, or to object. Write to the address below. We answer within one month.

THRØ is for darts and darts is played in pubs, so parts of it are for adults. A player whose age we do not know is not treated as an adult: they are never listed publicly, never suggested to strangers, and cannot use the social parts. We do not profile children and we do not advertise to anybody.

Changes

If this changes in a way that matters, the app says so before it takes effect, and asks again where it has to. The date at the top is when the current version started.
